![]() I play the audio of YouTube videos (mostly music) over a pair of speakers with the new ChromeCast Audio product, not a video ChromeCast. I really want to use ChromeCast all the time but I can't bear to use it with all this awful lag :(ĮDIT:(only the audio of the YT videos). Please help! Do I need to configure my router especially for ChromeCast, like opening ports or something like that? I am not a network expert but I know that helped Xbox Live. Is this the cause of my internet connection? I have set up the ChromeCast through my 5ghz band because that one tends to get a better internet speed, and there are a lot of devices on the 2.5ghz band (connection is only 10 down, 1 up) but I have a very good router, Asus AC1900, and I feel like with that level of router I shouldn't be getting any issues with ChromeCast. The Google Home app's Cast Screen/Audio function merely instructs the Android operating system to divert the audio output of any app, that is currently producing a sound (that would normally go to the Android device's DAC & eventually out to its speakers), to the selected Chromecast device via Google Cast network streaming. LMS can stream to a number of pCP players as well as to original Logitech players. Online streaming services like Dezer, Tidal, Spotify etc are supported. Local music can be streamed from attached USB Hard disks or from your NAS. pCP with LMS will manage music database and streaming. It depends on the app, but for example when I play YouTube videos it can be up to a 4-5 second delay (skip ad button was on 1 before I could even hear anything) and an at least 2 second one in Google Play Music (I go to adjust the volume and it takes at least 2 seconds for it to change on the speakers end, sometimes longer). OPTION 2: DEDICATED MUSIC SERVER (Logitech Media Server LMS). While I love the idea, unfortunately in practice I never can get it to work without an extreme amount of lag.
